Q: What is lypo-spheric vitamin C?
A: Recent clinical trials by world-renowned Vitamin
C expert and pharmacologist, Steve Hickey, PhD, show
that Lypo-SphericTM Vitamin C is able to produce serum
levels of Vitamin C nearly double those thought theoretically
possible with any oral form of Vitamin C.
Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C™ has been called "Vitamin
C on steroids!" This is because it utilizes state-of-the-art
Liposomal Encapsulation Technology (LET). LET allows
the nano-scopic spheres of Lypo-Spheric™ Vitamin
C to...
quickly navigate through the digestive system
eliminate need for digestive activity prior to assimilation
rapidly absorb in the small intestine move intact,
directly to the cells that need it.
release the powerful, non-degraded Vitamin C for use
throughout the body as the liposomal material is assimilated
by the phospholipid-craving cells that are under attack.
provide maximum assimilation and bio-availability
because there are...
NO binders
NO fillers
NO gelatins
NO capsule materials
NO dyes
NO sweeteners
NO flavorings common with tablet
and capsule supplements.
The Vitamin C and the encapsulating phopholipids are
nothing but pure, health-promoting, 100% nutrition.
In addition, "essential phospholipid" liposomes
protect the Vitamin C from several factors that can
degrade and even render Vitamin C ineffective.
Q: What is Liposomal Encapsulation Technology?
A: Medical specialists have used Liposomal Encapsulation
Technology for many years to deliver tiny amounts
of therapeutic substances to specific organs or tissues
without being altered and without affecting any other
parts of the body.
Many health-promoting substances can be encapsulated
in sub-microscopic liposomes. The liposomes not only
protect the supplement from degrading conditions in
the environment, but will also deliver them safe and
sound to "target" organs and structures
of the body.
LivOn Labs has just perfected a Vitamin C supplement,
called Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C using "Smart"
Liposomal Nano-Spheres™ — a Liposomal
Encapsulation Technology (LET) especially developed
for food supplements.
Q: What are Essential Phospholipids?
A: The protective barrier (membrane) around every
cell in your body is made from phospholipids. Many
of the structures inside each cell are also made from
phospholipids. The body can synthesize some phospholipid
compounds but others must be supplied by the diet.
Phospholipids that can only be obtained through dietary
intake are called "essential phospholipids."
Phosphatidylcholine is the most important and useful
of the essential phospholipids. Lypo-Spheric™
Vitamin C phosphatidylcholine liposomes to encapsulate
its Vitamin C. Each packet of Lypo-Spheric™
Vitamin C supplies 3,000 mg of essential phospholipids
in addition to 1,000 mg of Vitamin C.
Q: When is the best time to take Lypo-SphericTM
products?
A: While there is no exact time these products have
to be taken, we recommend taking them in the morning
and/or early afternoon. Taking the products too late
in the evening may cause a burst of energy which could
interfere with your normal sleep schedule.
Q: Should I consult my doctor before taking
Lypo-SphericTM products?
A: Consider consulting your doctor before starting
a supplementation program that includes vitamin C
if you have hemochromatosis, any type of hemolytic
anemia, G6PD deficiency, or known kidney insufficiency
or failure. In most cases, vitamin C can be supplemented
safely when initiated appropriately and adequately
monitored, regardless of the medical condition one
may have.
Q: How much Lypo-SphericTM products can I
take at a time?
A: How much you can take, and how much you should
take are two very different questions. As far as published
studies are concerned, no toxicity level has ever
been found with vitamin C, glutathione, or B vitamins.
Nor is there any documented toxicity level for phospholipids
(the material in the liposomes).
As far as how much you "should" take, we
recommend one to two packets per day for general health
maintenance. If you choose to take more than the recommend
dosage, it is best to increase the dosage level slowly
over a 7 day period.
Q: Should I take the Lypo-SphericTM products
on an empty stomach?
A: We recommend you take the product on an empty
stomach because it will enter the bloodstream faster.
For those who are prone to low blood sugar levels,
the Lypo-SphericTM AGE BlockerTM should be taken just
before a light snack or meal. Hypoglycemic substances,
like caffeine, should be avoided.
Q: Are there any supplements or medications
that should not be taken with Lypo-SphericTM products?
A: All of the components of the AGE BlockerTM and
GSH are common dietary supplements that should not
interfere with other supplements or most medications.
However, we do not recommend taking any form of vitamin
C with prescription Coumadin or Warfarin. We recommend
consulting your physician or pharmacist if you have
any questions about taking this product with your
current medications.
Q: If I take Lypo-SphericTM Vitamin C and
Lypo-SphericTM GSH or AGE BlockerTM, which have a
minor amount of sodium benzoate in it, will my body
make benzene?
A: From the desk of Thomas Levy MD, JD:
Sodium benzoate and vitamin C mixed directly together,
such as in a soft drink, can result in a limited production
of benzene. Increased benzene production does not
occur in products which do not contain both benzoate
AND ascorbic acid. Since Lypo-Spheric GSH and AGE
Blocker do not contain ascorbic acid, there is no
possibility of benzoate formation on their own.
Even if one were to take Lypo-Spheric GSH and AGE
Blocker concurrent with Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C, the
mechanism of benzene formation requires conditions
not present in this scenario In addition, the ascorbic
acid in the Vitamin C is contained in liposomes which
prevent contact with the sodium benzoate during the
very short time required for these supplements to
pass through the stomach.
If you have any fears about possibility of even miniscule
amounts of benzene forming in your stomach, simply
take the LypoSpheric Vitamin C by itself on an empty
stomach and wait at least 20 minutes before ingesting
any product that contains sodium benzoate and don't
take Lypo-Spheric AGE Blocker or Lypo-Spheric GSH
with any beverages containing vitamin C.
Q: What makes Lypo-SphericTM products different
from traditional supplements?
A: The Lypo-SphericTM products are packaged in sealed
packets that prevent exposure to degrading agents
in the environment, like pollutants in the air. The
individual packets keep the Lypo-SphericTM supplements
as fresh as the day they were packaged! The Lypo-SphericTM
products are encapsulated with liposomes made from
top-grade phosphatidylcholine (PC) derived from soy
lecithin. PC is loaded with Essential Fatty Acids
(omega-3 and omega-6) which are essential for many
bodily functions and are especially important for
proper fat metabolism. The choline in phosphatidylcholine
has tremendous health benefits as well. Together they
promote optimum liver health, help maintain LDL and
HDL cholesterol levels already within normal units,
scour the circulatory system for free cholesterol,
provide the raw materials for cell membrane repair
throughout the body, and are essential in the maintenance
of healthy blood, glands, and organs.
Q: Why don’t the Lypo-SphericTM products
dissolve in water?
A: One of the major advantages of liposomal delivery
systems is that liposomes do not dissolve in water,
most acids, or most alkaline solutions. As a result,
they can protect their contents until they reach the
liver where they are metabolized.
Q: I cannot drink lots of juice because of
the sugar and don't really like the taste of Lypo-SphericTM
products plain or in water. Is there a better way
to take it?
A: Although there is no particular health benefit
in putting Lypo-SphericTM products in a flavored beverage,
we suggest this method because some people do not
care for the liposomal taste.
If the quantity of juice is a concern, we suggest
you squeeze your Lypo-SphericTM products into 1 or
2 oz. of juice rather than a full serving. Also, if
sugar is a concern, use a vegetable juice rather than
fruit juice.
Q: Why do the Lypo-SphericTM Vitamin C packets
get puffy?
A: When the product combines with oxygen in the packets,
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is created and this causes the
packets to swell over time. Carbon dioxide is not
harmful to the liposomes or to your health. In fact,
this gas is used to make soda pop fizzy. We also exhale
carbon dioxide when we breathe out.
Q: Will supplementing with vitamin C lead
to the development of kidney stones?
A: Although some have theorized a correlation between
vitamin C and the development of kidney stones, research
contradicts the hypothesis. The theory is based on
two unrelated observations:
1) A portion of ingested vitamin C produces oxalate
or oxalic acid
2) Individuals with increased oxalate in their urine
may have a greater risk of developing kidney stones
Extensive research, however, has shown that a "healthy
person who avoids dehydration and ingests very large
amounts of vitamin C does not need to have any concern
about kidney stone formation." In 1999, two studies
conducted at Harvard showed that vitamin C is not
a factor in the development of kidney stones in healthy
adults. Curhan et al. (1999) followed 85,557 women
for 14 years and found no statistical association
with vitamin C and increased risk of kidney stone
development. An earlier study of 45,251 healthy men
with no history of kidney stones reached the same
conclusion with dosage levels that ranged from 250mg
to 1,500 mg of vitamin C daily.
Q: Why is there alcohol in the Lypo-SphericTM
Vitamin C?
A: There is alcohol in the product for preservative
purposes. This is a pharmaceutical grade natural grain
alcohol which will not cause any ill effects in the
body. If you do not wish to consume the alcohol in
the product, open the packet and let it sit for 10-15
minutes to let the alcohol evaporate. (Do not let
it sit for more than 8 hours because it will oxidize).
Q: Why should I take Lypo-SphericTM GSH if
the body already makes glutathione?
A: In the presence of toxic and infectious stresses
in the body, the levels of GSH inside the cell and
outside the cell decline. While it is true that GSH
is synthesized inside the cell, this does not mean
that this ability can keep up with all stresses. It
does not. Subsequently, the lowered GSH levels cannot
maintain optimal cellular health, resulting eventually
in clinically apparent disease or generalized poor
health. Lowered GSH levels result in compromised immune
function.*
Q: What may the Lypo-SphericTM GSH do for
me?
A: There are 3 key functions of GSH: Antioxidant,
Immune System booster Detoxifier.*
GSH is the cell’s master antioxidant. Not only
does GSH function very well as an intracellular antioxidant,
but it also recycles Vitamin C, Vitamin E, lipoic
acid and peroxide, the cell’s other vital antioxidants.*
GSH is a powerful detoxifier. The liver, as the body’s
primary filter, contains more GSH than any other organ
or tissue in the body. Not only does GSH neutralize
many toxins, but it is also key in their elimination
from individual cells and the body. KEY: This means
GSH is a powerful chelator.
GSH is “super food” for T-killer cells,
T-helper cells, basophils, phagocytes, microphages,
and leucocytes, greatly empowering these first line
defenders in the human immune system.*
Q: Why is Vitamin B12 included in Lypo-SphericTM
GSH?
A: Glutathione (GSH) is used synergistically with
Methylcobalamin (B12), and this synergy allows the
cells that process and transmit information between
the brain, the spinal cord and the rest of the body
to experience greater levels of support for cellular
health.*
Q: Where does GSH come from?
A: The body’s cells make GSH from three amino
acids – glutamate, l-cysteine and glycine, also
referred to as “precursors.” The body
depends on the presence of these “precursors”
and the cell’s health status to make GSH. Since
many of these precursors are missing from our modern
diet and people frequently have less than healthy
cells, natural GSH levels are often low. This is why
supplementation with reduced GSH is important for
optimum cellular (and overall) health.*
Q: What does GSH stand for?
A: Glutathione Sulfhydryl
Q: Why is indium included in the Lypo Spheric AGE Blocker?
A: Indium is included to make the Lypo-SphericTM AGE Blocker a powerful anti-aging product and to increase absorption of the other minerals found in the product. Indium is an important trace mineral that increases essential trace mineral absorption in the liver, heart, kidneys, spleen, and lungs.* It also helps stimulate the release of hormones like Human Growth Hormone (HGH), estrogen, testosterone, and other hormones.*
